Proverbs 3:5-6  Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Feeling afraid or feeling fear is an emotion.  Fear is one of many emotions, and emotions cannot you.  How you respond to your emotions is more the issue.  If you have come to a moment in time when you are facing fear, stress or anxiety;  what’s the fastest, most immediate way to respond?  I’ve found that the scriptures above will arm you to take out your fear and anxiety quickly.  By focusing your mind on these thoughts, you will have a release from the pressure of trying to figure out why you’re feeling this way.

As you move your mind to meditating on these verses, you will begin to feel the peace of God.  Instead of worrying, move your mind to trusting. You can trust the Lord, he has never failed yet.  He will never fail you.  Stop trying to figure out what is the cause of your emotion and just let the action of trusting come in and start to heal you.  Acknowledge His promises to make your path straight.  Believe in His promise that He is with you and He is your God.  He will strengthen you and help you.  He will uphold you in His righteous right hand.

Can you see yourself calmly resting in the right hand of God?  Imagine this.  You may not have the answer for what is troubling you.  But, you are free to rest in God’s hand and let Him uphold you.  He is asking us to remember that He is with us, He is for us and He can strengthen us for the day.

The more you practice this, the easier it will get.  Take some deep breaths and recite the verses you are memorizing.  These are two powerful scriptures to help you erase fear and anxiety from your mind.  God is love, fear is not from Him.   To emphasize this, God has placed literally hundreds of verses in the bible to help us be less fearful.  So, take some time to find the ones that speak to your heart today.

Stress and anxiety will come, but with training we can teach our minds and hearts to TRUST God!  Sometimes,  all I need is to remind myself to trust. As you meditate on, or chew, more of the Word, you will begin to understand the depth and the breadth of God’s concern and love for you.   I pray you will write these verses down and keep them handy until you have committed them to memory.

Lord, thank you for understanding our weakness toward fear and giving us your promises that you are near to us.  As we choose to trust you and not our own understanding, we will begin to experience peace.
